Principal, Teachers and Support Staff of the Year Honored by Assumption Parish Schools

Assumption Parish school leaders recognized all the 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year nominees at the district’s Jan. 7 meeting. Assumption Parish school leaders held an awards ceremony on January 7 to honor those teachers, principal and staff who were selected as the district’s top winners of the year, earning them the right to compete among the state’s top professionals. Nominees from each school were also recognized.

All nominees and winners gathered at an awards ceremony at Assumption High School, sponsored by Savoie Engineering, followed by recognition at the Assumption Parish School Board meeting.  Family, friends and work colleagues joined in the events, and refreshments were provided.

“This was a great evening to recognize and celebrate some of our top professionals whose hard work and dedication day-in and day-out make our school system a strong, safe learning environment,” Superintendent Dr. John Barthelemy said. “We appreciate their commitment to excellence, and we are proud to present our top winners as representatives of our district in this year’s state competitions.”

Those district-level winners will advance to the regional competition to vie for Louisiana’s top award in each category.  Those state winners will be announced in the spring.
