  • The Assumption Parish Head Start received $719,362.00 during the 2016-17 fiscal year.  The budgetary funding year follows the Assumption Parish School Board’s funding year.

  • RESULTS OF THE  MOST RECENT REVIEW BY THE SECRETARY: THE ADMINISTRATION FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES (ACF) CONDUCTED  OFFICIAL ON-SITE MONITORING REVIEW EVENTS OF THE ASSUMPTION PARISH HEAD START PROGRAM IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

    • ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SAFETY (CONDUCTED 3/19-20/2015) Program was found to be compliant in all areas.

    • FISCAL INTEGRITY/ERSEA (CONDUCTED 4/13-17/2015) Program was found to be compliant in all areas.

    • CLASS (CONDUCTED  4/28-30/2015) CLASS SCORES WERE AS FOLLOWS:

      • EMOTIONAL SUPPORT = 6.30   (Positive Climate – 6.10; Negative Climate – 1.0; Teacher Sensitivity – 6.30; Regard for Student Perspective – 5.80)

      • CLASSROOM ORGANIZATION = 6.30  (Behavior Management – 6.40; Productivity – 6.40; Instructional Learning Formats – 6.10)

        • INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT = 3.93  (Concept Development – 3.20; Quality of Feedback – 4.10; Language Modeling – 4.50)

  • PERCENTAGE OF CHILDREN WHO RECEIVED MEDICAL AND DENTAL SCREENINGS = 100%

  • PARENT INVOLVEMENT ACTIVITIES – THE ASSUMPTION PARISH HEAD START PROGRAM OFFERS PARENTS OPPORTUNITIES TO ATTEND WORKSHOPS, PARTICIPATE IN CLASS FIELD TRIPS, SERVE ON COMMITTEES, NETWORK WITH LOCAL AGENCIES TO MEET THEIR FAMILIES’ NEEDS CONCERNING EDUCATION, HEALTH, SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL, AND SAFETY ISSUES, AND TAKE AN ACTIVE ROLE IN PROGRAM GOVERNANCE.

  • READY FOR KINDERGARTEN: THE ASSUMPTION PARISH HEAD START PROGRAM PREPARES ITS CHILDREN TO BE READY FOR KINDERGARTEN SUCCESS BY HIRING HIGHLY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL, IMMERSING CHILDREN IN A RESEARCH-BASED CURRICULUM,  FOLLOWING FEDERAL AND STATE MANDATES, ATTENDING TO THE SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL NEEDS OF OUR CHILDREN, AND ANALYZING DATA TO MAKE INFORMED DECISIONS TO MEET THE INDIVIDUALIZED NEEDS OF OUR CHILDREN.
