New Teachers of the Year Recognized
The Assumption Parish Schools recently recognized the New Teacher of the Year winners – Emily Pujol, Belle Rose Primary, and Olivia Neal, Assumption High School.
“We are proud to recognize these exceptional educators who have shown outstanding dedication, hard work, and a passion for education. These teachers have significantly contributed to our school district's success by providing our students with a nurturing and enriching learning environment,” Superintendent Dr. John Barthelemy said.
2024 Outstanding Support Staff Workers Announced
Three Assumption Parish band students were recently selected to perform in the Louisiana Music Educators Association District VII All-Youth Honor Band Concert, which was held at Central Lafourche High School in Raceland.
The district announced a group of exception support staff members who were selected for recognition at the February school board meeting.
Those outstanding staff members included Juanita “Fez” Gilbert, Belle Rose Primary; Betty Johnson, Labadieville Primary School; Penny Barbier, Napoleonville Primary School; Nicole Voisin, Bayou L’Ourse Primary; Keiara Gray, Belle Rose Middle School; Jasmine Carter, Labadieville Middle School; Amber Leonard, Napoleonville Middle School; Melinda Breaux, Pierre Part Elementary; and Cynthia Blanchard, Assumption High School.
“These individuals have demonstrated outstanding dedication, hard work, and resilience in their roles, and we are proud to celebrate their achievements. This recognition is a testament to their unwavering commitment to their respective schools and the broader community,” Superintendent Dr. John Barthelemy said.
Campuses Celebrate Mardi Gras
Students from across the district took part in their own Mardi Gras celebrations, including parades, themed luncheons and parties, as well as in-class projects.
