Assumption Parish Students Win Art Awards

Three Assumption Parish students placed in this year’s 2025 Inclusive Art Contest, sponsored by the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Disability Affairs (GODA).

Those student winners include Lilah Dupre, a 5th grader at Pierre Part Elementary, who received 2nd place; Molly Simoneaux, an 8th grader at the 7th and 8th Grade Academy, who won 3rd place; and Hailey Comeaux, a senior at Assumption High School, who won 3rd place.

In recognition of the 35th anniversary of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), the students were invited to submit artwork that reflects the spirit of the ADA—highlighting equal rights, accessibility, and the belief that individuals with disabilities deserve the same opportunities as everyone else.

Their creative pieces showcased the power of inclusion and the value of making sure all people have what they need to succeed.
