Now Accepting Special Education Advisory Council (SEAP) Applications
The Assumption Parish School Board is seeking applications for its Special Education Advisory Panel (SEAP).
What is the APS Special Education Advisory Panel?
The Assumption Parish School Board Special Education Advisory Panel (SEAP) consists of parents of exceptional children, APSB district employee(s), and community stakeholder(s). The purpose is to provide advice and feedback regarding special education policies, procedures, and resources. The members of the SEAP shall also engage in outreach activities in the community to increase the level of knowledge, support, and collaboration with respect to special education. The council will meet three times per year.
Council members will:
● Actively participate in meetings with the Assumption Parish Special Education Supervisor and/or designee.
● Share input concerning policy, procedures, and use of resources.
● Work collaboratively to improve the educational system for students with disabilities.
Application and selection process
Applications are open to parents of students with disabilities, Assumption Parish Board employees, and community stakeholders. Click on the link to apply: Application for APSB SEAP. The application process closes Friday, May 10, 2024. Accepted applicants will be notified of their selection by email.
