At its virtual board meeting on Wednesday night, the Assumption Parish School Board appointed their Chief Financial Officer, Anya Bailey Randle, to the position of Acting/Interim Superintendent. Mrs. Randle, who has been an employee of the district for over seven years, is the parish's most experienced director. With nearly 17 years of governmental financial experience, she has led the district through some challenging financial distress. According to the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending in 2019, she manages a budget above $40 Million. Under her financial guidance and leadership, the school district currently has the most significant fund balance within the last ten fiscal years.

Randle, a native and resident of St. James Parish, received her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Dillard University in New Orleans and a Masters of Business Administration from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux. She is a Certified Louisiana School Business Administrator and a Certified Government Finance Officer. An active member of the Louisiana Association of School Business Officials since 2007, Mrs. Randle currently serves as the Immediate Past President. She also serves as the Louisiana representative on the Board of Directors for the Southeastern Association of School Business Officials.

Mrs. Randle is confident that her faith in God, her relationship she has with the board members, the dedication and loyalty of all employees, and the strong support of community members will aid in this transitional phase's success. "The collaborative effort of all stakeholders in Assumption Parish is what has continued to allow this district to soar despite having minimal resources. I embrace the opportunity during these challenging times and look forward to the cohesive efforts of our team that will bring about continued growth and progress within Assumption Parish Schools," she said.

Board President, Mrs. Andrea Barras, stated, "Considering the very despairing times that we find ourselves in, having Ms. Anya as our Acting and then Interim Superintendent is in the best interest of our school district at this point. Ms. Anya has always gone above and beyond to make sure the Board is informed and that all financial matters are kept in order."
