Superintendent Hosts Pastors' Breakfast

Religious and school leaders came together on Wednesday to enjoy breakfast and discuss opportunities to improve schools in Assumption Parish.  Superintendent Jeremy Couvillion invited local religious leaders to a breakfast at the Assumption Community Center where they enjoyed a meal as well as entertainment from some of our parish’s most talented students.

“We know how influential and important our local religious leaders are.  They have a connection with our families and have great insight into the needs of our students.  We wanted to open the lines of communication with them to improve the conversations about how we can better serve the families of Assumption Parish,” said Mr. Couvillion.  “We hope to continue this tradition and continue to foster ongoing discussions with all of our local leaders.  I want to listen to the needs of the community and to work to meet those needs.”

The meeting was also attended by several school board members and employees.  The entertainment was provided by the Assumption High School band, Grace Templet, and a choir of students from Belle Rose Primary and Belle Rose Middle.  The students provided musical accompaniment—playing and singing Christmas songs for the breakfast.
