Assumption School Leaders to Evaluate Best Use of Resources, to Seek Community Input

2023-09 APS Admin -- Superintendent Dr.  John Barthelemy, pictured back center, shares ideas with school district leaders on how they can gain student, staff, community, and stakeholder feedback on the district’s existing resources to determine what improvements can be made.

Assumption Parish School leaders are endeavoring to do a thorough examination of the district’s many resources to determine what changes may be needed to better prioritize efforts and spending to impact student improvement and advancement.

“We are taking a comprehensive look at how we are structured and how we are currently allocating our resources to determine whether there is a way to realign our current structure to invest more into those efforts that directly impact student growth and teacher effectiveness,” Superintendent Dr. John Barthelemy said.

“Our mindset is that everything in our district should be structured to garner the best results for our students,” Dr. Barthelemy said.  “I know that our community members expect us to be wise stewards of our resources, and our children and employees deserve best practices for best results.  Knowing that, we are looking at every way we can advance our system with our existing resources.”

Dr. Barthelemy said district leaders will be collecting data from community members, students, staff, school board members and other stakeholders as well as internal departments in the coming months to gain a greater perspective.
