Learning about good health is important at every age.  The Assumption Parish Head Start partnered with the Louisiana Department of Health to provide hand hygiene lessons to some of our youngest students.  Classes at Belle Rose Primary had a great time learning important information and dancing with their teacher.

Resources Available to Help Children Get Ready for Kindergarten

Assumption Parish Ready Start Network has partnered with Scholastic Education to provide local families with valuable resources to Engage, Explore and Express as a family – together every day!

Engage, Explore, Express. is an Assumption Parish Ready Start Network initiative to provide preschool-aged children (0-5) and their families with opportunities and resources for reading, talking, and playing every day so they can develop the communication and learning skills necessary to be a success in school.

Getting kids ready for kindergarten is a top priority in Assumption Parish. School leaders know when children enter kindergarten ready to grow and learn, they have an advantage over their peers who are less ready to do so. High levels of kindergarten readiness are associated with positive academic outcomes from elementary to high school.

Visit www.assumptionreadystart.com for more information and access to resources.
