Anya Randle Receives ASBO International Eagle Award
Business Services Director Anya Randle has been awarded the highest honor bestowed by the Association of School Business Officers (ASBO) for her outstanding professional service to the Assumption Parish Public School System. The award recognizes a member’s overall career achievement and unique contributions.
Randle is the first Louisiana school business official to win ASBO’s coveted International Eagle Award. The award will be presented at the organization’s international conference in Portland, Oregon, in September 2022. The award also comes with a scholarship in her honor.
“I am deeply honored to receive this industry’s most prestigious award, and I am grateful to the people I work with who have entrusted me with the task of managing this district’s business office in an effective way that allows our team to direct our resources to our priorities,” Randle said.
Assistance with Uniforms and School Supplies Available
The Assumption Parish Police Jury and Office of Emergency Preparedness has announced that funds are available for low-income households to assist with the purchase of school uniforms and school supplies.
The funds are available through the Community Services Block Grant Cares Act Supplement. All applications will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applicants must provide, at a minimum, the following documentation: copies of each household members’ social security cards, proof of income of all household members; a driver’s license or photo ID of the applicant, and proof of residency in Assumption Parish.
Interested persons should contact the Assumption Parish Housing & Community Development Office at 985-369-2026.
Communication Efforts for District’s Strategic Plan Earn Recognition
Assumption Parish Public Schools’ Communication Consultant Delia Adams Taylor, APR, owner of Taylor Media Services, recently received national recognition for the district’s communication campaign that informed the community of its strategic plan rollout, as well as specific recognition for the video outlining the points of the strategic plan. The work was recognized by the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW), a nationwide organization of women and men in communications. Both the campaign and video won first place in their respective categories in the regional at-large competition, making them eligible to compete in the national competition. The judges lauded the district for its efforts to share such important information with the public in clear, easy to understand ways.
