Special Education
Assumption Parish Schools place a high priority on its programs for students with disabilities because it believes very strongly that each child can reach his or her maximum potential if provided quality instruction in the appropriate environment for learning. Our mission is to ensure that every student with a disability receives a free, appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment. We strive to meet the students' individual needs by utilizing a team approach with input and support from regular education personnel, administrators, special education personnel, community agencies, parents, and the students being served when appropriate. Students with disabilities are serviced alongside their regular education peers.
