Request for Bids On School Lands for Hunting and Trapping Lease

By virtue of and in conformity with the provisions of the LA R.S. 41:1211 et seq., sealed bids will be accepted on or before September 13, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. - for the hunting and trapping privileges on lands identified below.  Sealed bids will be opened at 10:00 a.m. on September 13, 2023 at 4901 Highway 308 in Napoleonville, LA 70390.

 

LANDS AVAILABLE FOR HUNTING AND TRAPPING PRIVILEGES:

 

1.)    All of Section 16, T13S, R12E, LESS AND EXCEPT, the acres owned by St. Martin Parish School Board and Iberia Parish School Board equaling 334.88 acres.  The acreage owned by the Assumption Parish School Board equals to 243.10 acres.  This area is located near the Big Goddell Bayou.

 

2.)    All of Section 16, T15S, R14E, containing approximately 640 acres located in the Bayou Sherman Area.

 

3.)    All of Section 16, T13S, R13E, less and except - lot #1 which was sold to Antonio Perrara under Act 67 of 1852 encompassing 80 acres by patent #574, volume 1, page 193, and excluding beds and bottoms of all navigable waters located in said section containing approximately 337 acres.  This section is in Bayou St. Vincent area.

Clearly state on the outside of the envelope the section of land on which you are bidding.

 

Consideration for the lease shall be a minimum of $3.00 per acre.

 

The initial term of the lease will be for one (1) year with renewable options for one (1) year at a time for the next five (5) years - at the sole and independent discretion of the Assumption Parish School Board.  Lease terms begin October 1 – September 30 of the following year.

 

Bids shall be accompanied by a deposit in an amount equal to 100% of the bid and this order made payable to the Assumption Parish School Board in the form of a certified cashier’s check. The deposit will be returned to unsuccessful bidders or credited to the successful bidder(s) account.  If the successful bidder declines the award of the bid - the deposit is non-refundable.

 

Certificates of Insurance must be presented upon signing of any applicable lease (and at the time of each renewal) with requirements of $1,000,000.00 occurrence / $2,000,000.00 Aggregate General Liability - naming Assumption Parish School Board as additional insured and Waiver of Subrogation.

 

The successful bidder must execute a lease according to the lease form approved by the Assumption Parish School Board - within five (5) days from the awarding of the bid.

 

The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids / for any reason.
