Pierre Part Students Named State Social Studies Fair Winners

Several students from Pierre Part Elementary recently placed at the Louisiana State Social Studies Fair that was held April 21 in Lake Charles.

Students from across the state presented researched projects on a variety of subject matter in the categories of anthropology, economics, geography, political science, psychology, sociology, state and local studies, U.S. history, and world history.

Sixth graders Seth Mabile and Neveah Barrilleaux won first place in geography for their project, “Swamp vs. Marsh.”

Sixth Grader Mia Landry and 7th Grader Kennedie Crochet received third place for their anthropology entry about rural life.

Sixth Grader Aubrie Crochet received fourth place for her presentation on the history of the Olympics, while 5th graders Saul Oullette and Daiten Breaux won fifth place for their presentation on the history of basketball.

Ally Hue also participated in the state level competition in Louisiana history category. She presented a project on Cajun Culture.
