New Principal Hired for Belle Rose Primary School
Nellie W. Brown, an educator experienced in leadership and mental health counseling, has been named the new principal of Belle Rose Primary in Assumption Parish Public Schools.
“We are pleased to announce the hire of Mrs. Brown. She comes to us with more than 20 years of experience in educational leadership and a tremendous desire to positively grow our students,” said Superintendent Dr. John Barthelemy.
Brown assumed her new post on Aug. 12, after the new school year had begun. Labadieville Primary School Principal Brandee Gros dually managed her campus and the Belle Rose Primary campus prior to Brown’s appointment.
“I am excited about the opportunity to work in the Belle Rose community and to grow our school out of the many positives that exist here. This is a special place, and I am so honored to be a part of it,” Brown said.
Brown comes to the district from Terrebonne Parish Schools, where she served as a master teacher, instructional coach, campus administrator, and enrichment leader. She also has 12 years of classroom teaching experience in the Terrebonne Parish and East Baton Rouge Parish public school systems.
Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Southern University. She also earned a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Southern University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Nicholls State University.
