On our road to full recovery, it is vital to support each other. Yesterday, we met as a district leadership team to complete our needs assessment. System leaders expressed the importance of having the upcoming weekend to prepare for school rather than returning on Friday. Monday will give us a fresh start to the week. As a result, we will start school on Monday, September 13, 2021, instead of Friday, September 10, 2021. Our buses will run.

The parents of students who cannot return to school due to extenuating circumstances must notify their child’s respective school to receive guidance. We will not penalize any student because of their circumstances. We are opening our schools as a service to our community. Schools are places where students can get some normalcy, education, and much-needed services.

On Thursday, our school buses will do a dry run to ensure bus routes are accessible. Please do not be alarmed. 

Finally, emergency services (EMS, Police, Fire, 911) are accessible to our schools. All schools have power, food, water, air conditioning, and internet. Our school system is working at total capacity.
