The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) must annually evaluate the performance of Louisiana’s special education programs, as required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). For the school year 2018-2019, all of Louisiana’s local education agencies (LEAs) have been evaluated using the LEA Determinations Results and placed in one of four determination categories: meets requirements, needs assistance, needs intervention, and needs substantial intervention. We are proud to announce that Assumption Parish meets requirements while scoring 31 out of a possible 33 points. Congratulations to everyone involved in making this happen.
