The Assumption Parish School Board is now accepting applications for the following positions. Location assignments for all open positions will be determined at a later date.


Administrative Assistant - (182 Days)

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Type B / Level 2 certificate; Educational Leader Level 1 (EDL1); Educational Leadership: Administration and Supervision; Master’s degree; 12 (twelve) hours of professional education; 3 (three) years of teaching and/or administrative experience within the last 5 (five); additional criteria as the board may require; minimum requirements as stated in SDE Bulletin 746 (as revised); qualifications should not be established for the individual, but rather for the position.

Custodian – (240 Days / 8 hours per day)

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION: High School diploma or equivalent preferred; aptitude to perform assigned responsibilities; ability, temperament and enthusiasm to work with others and around school children

District-Based Executive Master Teacher – (200 Days)

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Individual must hold a valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate, meeting the requirements listed in the Louisiana Standards for State certification of school personnel, Bulletin 746, Part Ill, IV, V, VI, VII, IX and X. Minimum requirements as stated in SDE Bulletin 746 (as revised). Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience. Master’s Degree preferred. Qualifications should not be established for the individual, but rather for the position.

School Food Technician – (180 Days)

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or its equivalent; a minimum of one year successful food service experience and competent in all areas of performance; positive attitude; ability to be a team worker; good communication skills; ability to lift and carry 25 pounds and 50 pounds with assistance; ability to complete math problems involving fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Special or Regular Education Paraprofessional – (180 Days)

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Highly qualified requirements; must have accomplished at least one of the following: passed the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Para-Pro Assessment (ETS Para-Pro Assessment (0755) passing score: 450 or completed two (2) years of full-time study (48 semester credit hours) from a state-approved or regionally accredited institution of higher education or earned an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of Applied Science degree from a state-approved or regionally accredited institution of higher education; *within the forty-eight (48) semester hours, the paraprofessional must complete a total of fifteen (15) hours of general education requirements that include English Composition (3), English/Reading (6), and Mathematics (6); for the remaining thirty (30) hours of coursework, acceptance of credit for a course shown on a transcript from an approved higher education institution is left to school district discretion in addressing the needs of the specific job; discipline-specific electives may include as many as twelve (12) hours of developmental (remedial) courses.
